After coaching the Iowa Lakes Community College men's and women's golf program for seven years, Andy Soper is saying goodbye to a job he's truly enjoyed.

During his tenure of seven years, he has coached 12 national qualifiers. He has had three All-Americans, two second team All-Americans, and one honorable mention All-American. His men's teams have had great success. His 2015-2016 men's team had a record of 74-22, a 77.08 win percentage. Also during the 2016 season, the team set a college record team score of 284 (4 under par) at the Mason City Country Club.

While Soper is looking forward the next chapter in his career, he will miss Iowa Lakes Community College.

"We appreciate everything Andy did for Iowa Lakes and our golf program over the last seven years. His teams were all competitive and individuals within the program became better golfers," said Troy Larson, athletic director.

Looking back at his time at Iowa Lakes, Soper talked about his appreciation for the chance to lead the program.

"Thanks to Troy Larson for the opportunity he gave me over the last seven years, I am greatly appreciative for the opportunity and can't thank him enough."

"We have a great program here for golf at Iowa Lakes, this fall we won two tournaments and in my tenure, the Lakers have been ranked in the top 10 several times. Lastly, thank you to all the players I've coached. They made the experience great for me; without them the program isn't where it is today, and I'm going to miss them."
