"Until you see what other teams have, you don't know," he said. "Last year we were 6-3 at the break and then we went 11-1 after.

"We've played well together and we're working hard and sharing the ball," he said. "We also play good team defense, which as kept us in every game. I've been pleased with how we've played at both ends of the floor."

Tigges said one of the areas the team will look to improve in is building a deeper bench. "And of course we need to stay healthy."

Against St. Ansgar, Tigges said his squad got off to a slow start.

"They had a 6-2 girl that gave us problems-she came up with blocks and altered our shots," the coach said. "They also packed it in on us and we didn't shoot as well. But one we got a 10-15 point lead, we kept it."

Stats were unavailable from the game.

The Warriors return to action in 2017 on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Eagle Grove.
