Ronald Eugene LeeMaster May 6, 1937 - Feb. 19, 2017

Ronald Eugene LeeMaster was born on May 6, 1937 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Meta Bahr. He passed away on Feb. 19, 2017, in Chandler, Ariz. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1957. While in high school, Ronald was active in basketball and track, and set a number of school records for the high jump. After high school, Ronald enlisted in the United States Army and later attended community college.

Ronald was united in marriage to Joan Nicol and had two daughters, Dr. Nicolle Karantinos and Heather LeeMaster Anguiano. After marriage, they relocated to Colona, Ill. There, Ronald worked for the Rock Island Railroad. Ronald returned to Estherville in 1979 and leased with Blachowske, and later Buesing Transportation.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Francis LeeMaster, ex-wife, Joan Nicol, mother, Meta Bahr, and countless aunts and uncles. He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Nicolle Karantinos (Nick) and Heather LeeMaster Anguiano (John), along with his grandsons, Sam Anguiano, Alex Karantinos, and Zach Karantinos. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings Dick Bahr and Janice Jarvis, nieces Bobbi Brunner and Brenda Diaz, and nephew Jeff Jarvis.

Ronald loved the Hawkeyes, Fox News, reading the daily newspaper, and college basketball and football. Papa Ron, as he was affectionately known, was loved by everyone and his sense of humor was endeared by all.

Ronald was a hardworking and humble man who was extremely proud of his daughters and grandsons. He dedicated his entire life to their well-being. Through their rearing, Ronald has left a legacy of Family, Selflessness, and Love.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Hospice of the Valley for their care and support to Ronald during his last days. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley (hov.org, tax id 86-0338886) in Ronald LeeMaster's name.
