Funeral services for Robert D. Reutter, 83, of rural Wallingford, will be held 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger with lay missioner Lana Williams officiating. Military rites by James Murphy Post 319 will be held at Sorden Cemetery in Webster, Iowa. He died on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at his farm home in rural Wallingford.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the church.

Robert D. Reutter the son of Donald and Mabel (Hedblom) Reutter, was born July 28, 1933 in Pilot Mound.

Bob graduated from Boxholm High School. Bob served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 serving in Korea.

Bob was united in marriage on June 1, 1958 to Janice I. Grush in Keswick. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 1, 2008.

They began their married life on a farm in rural Boxholm until 1967. At that time they bought a farm near Wallingford. He always said his kids were his "favorite Rock Group", when they were picking rocks in the field. Because, a family that picks together sticks together!! Bob raised hogs, cattle, corn and soybeans for many years. He was an active member of the Wallingford Elevator Board, Elks Club and VFW.

Bob was a member of the Graettinger United Methodist Church for many years. He was an avid sports fan with a particular interest in the St. Louis Cardinals and The Iowa State University Cyclones and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

Left to cherish Bob's Memory is his wife Jan of Wallingford; his three children: Rhonda (John) Sobecki of Colorado Springs CO, Ranae (John) Elekes of Martinsburg WV, Rod (Roberta) Reutter of Crown Pt. IN; six granddaughters; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren and 10 siblings.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
