CEDAR RAPIDS - Tipton girl's basketball coach Chad Rezac was one of four coaches getting a chance to manage one more game this past weekend.

Rezac was selected by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association to coach one of four senior All-Star games last weekend at the annual IGCA Larry Neimeyer Senior Games in Cedar Rapids.

Rezac coached the 2A Grey team, which beat the 2A White Team 72-67.

"It's a nice honor. I have coached girl's basketball for eight years now. Tipton has had some kids play in those games that I have coached and to be involved like this to coach in this event, is really something special," said Rezac.

The selection process for the rosters began earlier this year with 15 per team with the final rosters being paired down to 10 with alternates.

"It's exciting. To give the kids another chance to put on their jersey and play with kids from all over the state in a college setting is really a nice honor and opportunity for them," said Rezac.

Among the players on Rezac's team was North Union senior Alexis Valvick. Valvick averaged 7.2 points per game for the Warriors this past season.

The 2017 IGCA Class 2A Grey Team included Halley Mllinix (West Branch), Aubrey Werthmann (Durant), Brianna Mensen (Jaquotketa Valley), Paige McElifish (Nodaway Valley), Alexis Valvick (North Union), Halle Gray (Woodbury Central), Allyson Rose (West Monona), Britta Harberts (Sibley-Ocheydan), Ally Smith (Lisbon), Randi Roinson (Treynor).

Games were played at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.
