ALGONA - Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire may have surprised 13th-ranked Bishop Garrigan in Monday's Class 1A regional by taking the first set. However, the Golden Bears came back with a vengeance to pull out the 3-1 victory by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-9.

Garrigan, which placed fourth in the Top of Iowa West Conference, jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first game.

GT/RA took a timeout and came out battling, eventually taking a 12-10 lead. The game remained tight until 20-20, when the Titans closed out the match with a 5-1 run, which featured both a kill and block by Madison Hough. A service error gave the Bears their only point.
