On Nov. 20, 1971, she was united in marriage to Jerry Rienhardt at Huntington Methodist Church. The couple made their home on a farm near Estherville. Marilyn was employed with Emmet County State Bank and Estherville Sand & Gravel with a break in between to raise their three children.

Marilyn enjoyed spending her time doing word games and crossword puzzles; many times being the proud winner of the Super Duper Genius of the Day award on the radio. She also enjoyed collecting Red Wing pottery, caring for plants, tending to her garden, reading mystery novels, and spending time on her deck. Most importantly, Marilyn treasured being with her family - especially babies.
