The Estherville College Access Network Partnership held an early college exploration day for Estherville Lincoln Central sixth grade students Tuesday morning.

Laura Hoffman, Estherville CAN program coordinator, said, "At this age, students are often starting to make their four-year high school course plan. Knowing what they might want to do after high school is helpful in making a high school plan."

Students visited stations which included a crime scene investigation in the Criminal Justice building, live animals in the biology lab, and a team building exercise in which students worked together to build a tower from spaghetti noodles and marshmallows.

The mission of the Estherville Career Access Network is to ensure students have the additional training and education they need to secure careers, whether it is vocational, two year, or four-year programs.
