Dale Hustedt, President and CEO of Avera Holy Family Hospital, is stepping down. His last day is Friday, June 28.

Hustedt accepted an offer to serve as CEO of Aprius Medford Hospitals and Clinics in Medford, Wisconsin.

Hustedt said, "Aspirus is a very strong rural health system, much like Avera. My new position is a considerably larger operation, and allows participate on the cabinet of the Aspirus Health System, which is a great professional opportunity. As for his time in Estherville, Hustedt added, "I depart Estherville with wonderful memories of Estherville and a great fondness for the sisters and other professionals I've had the honor to work with. Hospitals and clinics are pretty complex operations, and I cannot understate how fortunate we are to have the doctors, nurses, therapists, technicians and support staff we have in Estherville. They truly are outstanding professionals who have always thought of our patient's welfare first. I've also enjoyed the relationships I've been able to have with the City, the Chamber, Excel! Estherville, my neighbors, and so many folks at our church. I wish God's blessing and the best for this community. "

Hustedt became Avera's administrator March 17, 2014. He moved to Estherville from Willmar, Minn. with his wife, Maria and their two children.
