"I have been attending the Emmet County Fair for as long as I can remember, and I have always looked up to the person in this role and waited for the day I could run for Fair Queen myself," Brandy said. "Some of the values the Fair Queen should have include respect, responsibility, courtesy and commitment."

Involvement in 4-H taught Brandy life skills, including leadership, communication and responsibility, she said.

Kayla Sabin

Kayla is the daughter of Amy Hoyer and Jordan Jones. She has three siblings-Madison Hoyer, Braylon and Saylor Jones. She will be a senior at North Union High School.

"I believe I would be a great Fair Queen due to my strong ties to the fair as well as my involvement," said Kayla. "Being the Emmet County Fair Queen comes with a lot of responsibility, and I am more than ready to take on the time commitment and leadership that it requires. I want the fair friendships, fun, and learning to continue for many years."

Kayla reflected on eight years of involvement in 4-H and the Emmet County Fair: "[they] have helped to shape me into the person I am today. Being involved in the fair requires dedication, leadership, commitment, organization, and of course, fun! Every year I look forward to meeting my goals, bringing projects to the fair, listening to the judge's comments and learning new skills."
