Seventeen Iowa Lakes students in the Laker Life club, and two Iowa Lakes staff took a mission trip to Chicago over Spring Break in mid-March. The students served each afternoon at New Life Center, which provides an after-school ministry for children in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.

According to Laker Life advisor Brett Fuelberth, "They also served at Breakthrough Ministries where they prepared and served food a men's and women's shelters for people experiencing homelessness, and at Feed my Starving Children, where they packed food to be shipped to Eswatini, Africa."

Fuelberth said the students grew closer to God during the week, grew as a family of believers, and learned to become servant leaders.
