SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — A judge has granted another reprieve to the Argosy riverboat casino in Sioux City,
The casino operator, Penn National Gaming Co., is appealing the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission's decision to close the casino. Polk County District Court Judge Eliza Ovrom said Thursday that the floating casino could remain open until she makes a ruling on the appeal. Ovrom says she expects to make the ruling next week.
Penn National lost its bid last year to operate a land-based casino in Sioux City. A Hard Rock casino and hotel by another developer is scheduled to open later this summer.
