nosittap, you may not be aware that nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to mankind. People find it so hard to quit smoking because they are actually addicted to nicotine. It is a substance that makes people crave it as much as ****** addicts crave ******. It may be a little blunt to call smokers addicts but it is an accurate description of the physiological phenomena nicotine creates. Think of the money you would save and the benefits to your health if you were able to break your addiction to nicotine.

Stay home if you like to smoke. Or step outside. Don't complain about non-smokers being rich. It's your choice to spend your money on the recreational drug tobacco. Well...it's not really your choice... since nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to mankind. You're a drug addict.

first off if you have to be in a non smoking environment to enjoy the night maybe that sums up the kind of people for the ban.second, people go to bars to relax and drink and SMOKE, that is what bars are for.alls it is rich nonsmokers with nothing else to do but whine and blow money on stupid stuff like campaigning against smokers. why not put the effort into teen pregnancy and drug abuse and such.i say smoking sections will suffice.

The smoking ban protects the freedom of all people to breathe air free of cancer causing cigarette smoke. If you don't want to breathe clean air, all you have to do is step outside and smoke all you want. Smokers can no longer force others to breathe their smoke or be driven away. Now we can enjoy a night out too. These businesses need to decontaminate and get the stench out if they expect to attract non-smokers. Those places smell like filthy ashtrays.

I definitely agree with the last comment...since when is it the government's job to tell us where and when we can smoke or even eat, drink, sleep or marry...what the heck...y does it seem like the government is continuously trying to butt its nose where it doesn't belong? The next thing we'll all hear is that the State of Iowa wants to ban drinking...wait, that's already been done and it didn't work...my bad!!!

This ban affects the freedoms of all Iowans. The 76 % that say it doesn't affect them are blind to seeing what is going on here.
