COLUMBUS, Neb. - The Iowa Lakes Community College Volleyball Team posted a 2-2 record a the Central Community College Tournament this past weekend.
On Friday, the Lakers opened the day with a 3-0 win over Casper and then lost 3-0 to Cowley.
Game scores against Casper were 25-20, 25-23, 25-10. Christy Wicks led the Lakers with 18 kills while Dani Pettigrew had eight. Kiara Garcia had 18 digs and Mariah Christian had 30 set assists.
Against Cowley, Iowa Lakes lost 25-19, 25-14, 25-23. Wicks had 14 kills while Brandi Demuth had seven. Christian had 22 set assists.
On Saturday, Iowa Lakes defeated Williston 3-1 and lost 3-1 to North Platte.
Game scores for Williston were 25-22, 18-25, 25-16, 25-17. Wicks had 20 kills while Pettigrew had 13 and Demuth had 14. Garcia had four ace serves and MaiCee Allen had three aces and four block assists. Sunday Duop had two solo blocks and three block assists.
North Platte defeated the Lakers 25-20, 25-13, 22-25, 27-25.
Christian had 46 set assists. Wicks led the attack with 22 kills while Pettigrew had 14 and Demuth had nine. Wicks and Duop each had four blocks. Demuth had 16 digs and Garcia had 15.
Iowa Lakes (9-26 overall, 1-3 in the conference) is home against No. 10 Iowa Central on Wednesday.
