By Michael Tidemann - Staff Writer , Estherville Daily News

The Wallingford Centennial Committee is looking for participants for activities at the event Saturday and Sunday Aug. 10-11.

According to Michelle Howing, committee member, contestants are sought for the Let it Grow beard contest. The committee is also looking for local entertainment and food vendors.

Have a tractor? Check out the tractor pull. And there's a kiddie tractor pull too.

They're also looking for parade entries and contestants for the Little Mr. and Miss Wallingford pageant. Contestants for the pageant should have some connection to Wallingford - whether it's as former residents or with relatives still in Wallingford.

There will be a fun run Saturday and street dance at Wallingford Pub Saturday night.

For more information, contact Howing at (712) 209-2965, Kris Fay at (712) 260-3245 or Wallingford City Hall at (712) 867-4585.
