Funeral Sservices will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville for Marion J. Liestman, age 86 of Paynesville who passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at the Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong. Reverend Ric Koehn will officiate. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Family and friends may call after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Arrangements were made by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home, Paynesville.
Marion was born Oct. 4, 1926 in Crow Wing Township, Stearns County, Minn., to Peter and Mathilda (Kolland) Johnson. Marion married Dale E. Liestman on April 16, 1946 in Belgrade. In 1952 they moved to Watertown where she was employed by the Watertown Public School as a cook for 32 years; the last 11 years as the head cook. She also worked at Harm's Pharmacy and Hirsch Pharmacy in Watertown. In 1998 they moved back to Paynesville. Marion spent many hours quilting at the Senior Center to raise money for the R.O.S.E. Center by stitching quilts. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery.

In March 2013, due to health issues she moved to Armstrong, Iowa to be near her daughter. While there she was able to spend time with her two great grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Chuck) Colegrove of Armstrong; granddaughter, Tara (Brian) Jungclaus of Glencoe; grandson, Jared (Lindsey) Colegrove of Estherville; two great grandchildren, Macy and Greyson Colegrove; sisters, Pearl Elfrink of Belgrade, Opal Johnson of New London, Doris Barksdale and triplet sister, Mildred Crowe both of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale, sister, Ruby Olson; brother, Parnel Johnson; and triplet infant sister, Martha.
